FIU Women’s Tennis Signs Czech Standout Katerina Mandelikova to NLI

Mandelikova was a four-year member of Czech Junior National Team

MIAMI – The FIU women's tennis team signed Katerina Mandelikova to a national letter of intent to join the program beginning with the 2022-23 season, FIU head coach Katarina Petrovic announced. 
 
Mandelikova, a native of Ropice, Czech Republic, was a four-year member of the Czech Junior National Tennis Team from 2015-19 and captured the nation's women's doubles championship in 2021.
 
"Katerina will make an immediate impact in our lineup in both singles and doubles," Petrovic said.  "Her experience in high level international competition is something we are really excited about."
 
Mandelikova has been ranked as high as No. 143 in the world by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in U18 singles and No. 650 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) in doubles. 
 
She was a finalist in the ITF U18 Singles Championship that was played in 2019 in Auckland, New Zealand. 
 
In 2018, Mandelikova was the winner of the ITF U18 competition played in Žilina, Slovakia.  Prior to that, she was a doubles finalist at the 2014 European Championship and placed fourth at the 2017 World Team Championships.
