MIAMI (Oct. 26, 2022) – Swimming and Diving is back in action this weekend when they host Liberty University in a dual meet.

The two teams will compete on Friday, October 28 at 5 p.m. ET and Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. ET, all at the FIU Aquatic Center at the Biscayne Bay Campus.

SEEING GOLD
The Panthers are coming off a convincing first place finish at the TYR Fall Classic. FIU scored 533 points, winning 14 events over the two-day competition.

Sophomore Christie Chue put in an excellent performance at the TYR Fall Classic winning a total of six events, four individual and two as part of a relay team.
Â
Freshman Harliai Curthoys-Davies continued to impress early in her career with two more individual wins and a relay win.
Â
On the dive side,
Maha Gouda was dominant winning three of the four events on her way to being named AAC Dive Athlete of the Week, for the second week in a row.
Â
Freshman Ruska Lehtonen and Graduate Student Serena Buchwald also posted strong scores over the weekend, qualifying for NCAA Zones.

SCOUTING LIBERTY
Liberty opened its season earlier this month with a dual meet against Campbell, taking down the Camels 141-116.
Â
The Lady Flames won nine events against Campbell and where led by sophomore Shelby Kahn and junior Abbie Shaw, who both won two individual events.
Â
This visit to Miami will be Liberty's second-straight road meet.

UP NEXT
Swim and Dive will be back in the pool November 4 and 5 when they host Illinois in a dual meet. Day one of competition will start at 5 p.m. ET and day two will start at 10 a.m. ET, all at the FIU Aquatic Center.
