MIAMI (Oct. 3, 2022) – FIU Men's Soccer saw three players earn weekly honors in The American, announced the conference Monday afternoon, after the Panthers shut out VCU and upset then No. 22 Memphis.

Senior
Philip Hildebrandt earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. The defender played a key role in FIU's midweek shutout of VCU helping the team earn a 1-0 road win, the fourth clean sheet of the season.
In the Panther's, 3-2, upset of Memphis, Hildebrandt registered the assist on the 83rd minute equalizer.

Freshman
Joao Domingues was named Rookie of the Week for his efforts. The versatile youngster contributed on offense and defense in the win over VCU but shined against Memphis.
He played the full 90 against the Tigers and scored the equalizer that would eventually spark the Panther's comeback victory.

Sophomore
Bernardo Dos Santos Monteiro earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll. The forward was active in both matches last week but played hero against Memphis.
Dos Santos Monteiro would slam home the rebound off a blocked penalty kick in the 88th minute to secure the Panthers victory, the fourth win over a ranked opponent.
