MIAMI (Oct. 8, 2022) – Women's Swimming and Diving hosted the final day of the Fall TYR Classic, Saturday morning, taking 1st place with a score of 533.

FIU was even stronger in the swim events on day two with seven race wins, including a sweep of the relay races.

Sophomore
Christie Chue put in another dominant performance with two more individual wins, taking the 200-Breast (2:18.64) and the 200-IM (2:04.26).

Freshman
Harliai Curthoys-Davies added another win in her young career, winning the 100-Free with a time of 51.56. She just missed the meet record by .50.
Â
Also getting an individual win was senior
Lamija Medosevic. She came out on top of the 200-Back with a time of 2:05.58.

The team of
Gia Pergolini, Chue,
Kasia Kolodziej and Medosevic clocked a winning time of 1:45.89 in the 200-Medley Relay. In the 400-Free relay, Medosevic, Curthoys-Daives,
Eriana Temperino and
Mia Zahab took first with a 3:29.53.

FIU divers were also strong in the final day of competition.

Maha Gouda finished first in the 3-Meter with a 321.83, sweeping the dive competitions.
Serena Buchwald scored points for the team with a 277.05 and freshman
Ruska Lehtonen qualified for NCAA Zones with a 291.83.

The Panthers won 13 of 18 events on the weekend, led wire-to-wire and took home the first victory of the season.

Swim and Dive will be back in the pool October 28 and 29 when they host Liberty University in a dual meet. Day one of competition will start at 5 p.m. ET and day two will start at 10 a.m. ET, all at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
