MIAMI (Nov. 14, 2022) – After capturing both the regular season and tournament championships for the American Athletic Conference, the FIU men's soccer team was slotted as the No. 10 seed and a second-round host in the 2022 NCAA Men's Soccer Championships.

The No. 10 seed Panthers (14-4-1, 6-2-1 AAC) earned a first-round bye and will host the winner of the NCAA opening round match between New Hampshire (14-4) and Seton Hall (7-3-7) on Sunday, Nov. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. ET at FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami.

New Hampshire and Seton Hall's NCAA First Round clash will take place on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. ET in Durham, N.H.
 
The 48-team single elimination tournament will take place from Nov. 14 through Dec. 12 and culminates with the final four teams advancing to the NCAA Division I Men's College Cup in Cary, North Carolina.
 
FIU will be making the 12th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Panthers own an 8-11 overall record in tournament play, with their best run in the tournament coming in 1996, when they advanced to the championship match before falling to St. John's, 4-1.
 
The program made its first appearance in 1991 and most recently appeared in NCAA postseason play last season, hosting Wake Forest at FIU Soccer Stadium, falling to the Demon Deacons, 3-2.
 
The Panther's section of the bracket features No. 7 seed Duke, Denver, San Diego, New Hampshire and Seton Hall. The winner of San Diego and Denver opening round clash will move on to face Duke.
 
FIU enters the tournament with a 13-4-1 record and is riding a seven-match unbeaten streak. The Panthers swept both the regular-season and tournament championships in their first season in The American.

New Hampshire finished the regular season 14-4 and earned an automatic bid as American East Champions. Seton Hall went 7-3-7 in 2022 earning an at-large bid out of the Big East.
