RALEIGH, N.C. – The FIU men's basketball team fell short in its first road tilt of the season on Tuesday night, slipping to a hot-shooting NC State squad that shot 51.3 percent from the floor and buried 15 3-pointers to come away with a 107-74 result at PNC Arena.

The loss drops FIU to 2-1 on the season, while NC State moves to 3-0 overall.

The Pack opened the game red hot to build a 57-32 lead at halftime, hitting 10-of-19 from beyond the arc (52.6%) in the frame while tallying 18 points off 13 FIU first-half turnovers and striving in transition with 20 fast-break points.
The Panthers finished the contest strong hitting 19-of-32 (59.4%) in the second half to finish shooting 52.5 percent (31-for-59), seeing a 50-42 margin over the final 20 minutes, though, 22 turnovers throughout the contest would be pivotal in plaguing the Panthers on the night.

Sophomore
Denver Jones led FIU in scoring, tallying 19 points – 16 of which came in the first half to carry the Panthers – on 7-of-12 shooting.
John Williams Jr. rounded out FIU's double-figure scorers, finishing strong with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting, four rebounds and two steals.

Sophomore
Mohamed Sanogo notched a new career-high with nine points to pair with three rebounds, followed by
Dashon Gittens with a career-high seven points, three rebounds and two steals. Classmate
Arturo Dean added six points, four rebounds and two assists and steals apiece, while
Jayden Brewer also added six points.

Nick Guadarrama and
Seth Pinkney finished with five points each, while Pinkney added a team-high five rebounds.

FIU continued to pack the paint with 46 points inside, though, also suffering from a cold night from beyond the arc on 5-of-18 shooting (27.8%).

Additionally, NC State finished with a plus-11 rebound margin, 40-29. The Wolfpack had five finish in double figures, led by 26 points apiece from Jarkel Joiner and Casey Morsell.
