BIRMINGHAM, ALA (Feb. 20, 2022) - Arielle Ho placed fourth in the high jump,
Daira Deicmane sixth in the 800 finals, and FIU wrapped up it's Conference USA Indoor Championships run with an eighth-place finish in Birmingham on Sunday.
Ho's mark of 1.72m was a personal best and just .06m away from a podium spot. Deicmane, who recently set an indoor school record in the 800, ran 2:12 for the sixth place mark.
Sophomore
Bessline Verneau narrowly missed scoring in the shot put, finishing in ninth with a mark of 12.92m.
The Panthers conclude the championships with a school record and silver medal in the pentathlon from
Fabiola Declet, a new DMR school record (
Lisa Adjouadi,
Kaylen Clark,
Leonarda Farkas, and
Andrea Loizidou), a bronze from
Kristin Lubeskie in the pole vault, and a FIU freshman record from
Michaelle Valentin in the weight throw.
