ATLANTA, Georgia (Mar. 21, 2022) - FIU freshman Christie Chue was named an NCAA All-American Honorable Mention after placing 14th overall in the 200 breaststroke on Day 4 of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center, while Chue also broke an FIU program record in the prelims on Saturday morning.
Chue placed 15th overall in the 200 breast prelims with a time of 2:07.99, shattering her own previous record (2:08.66) which was set at the Purdue Invitational earlier this season. After placing 15th in the prelims, Chue advanced to the B Final and swam a time of 2:08.27, which was good for 14th overall in the event finals.
Chue's record on Day 4 of the NCAA Championships marked the second-straight day that the freshman broke an FIU record, after setting the 100 breast record (59.86) in the prelims on Day 3.
Diver Maha Gouda competed in the platform on Day 4 and placed 26th overall in the prelims with a mark of 249.65.

FIU placed 36th overall among all schools at the national meet with a total of three points in the championships. Chue marked only the second FIU swimmer in program history to advance to a finals session at the NCAA Championships.
