MIAMI – Former FIU running back D'vonte Price has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, while punter Tommy Heatherly has inked a deal with the Miami Dolphins, as undrafted free agents following the completion of the 2022 NFL Draft.

One of the most accomplished players in FIU annals, Price finished his career ranked second among Panther career leaders with 2,203 rushing yards.

Price racked up a total of eight 100-yard rushing performances and averaged just under six yards per carry (5.97) over 49 career games.  He scored 15 rushing TDs and caught one touchdown pass.  Price was a 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl participant and was selected as an honorable mention All-Conference USA choice as a senior.

During the 2021 campaign, Price recorded 682 yards and six touchdowns, while averaging 5.3 yards a rush.  He became the sixth player in FIU football history to eclipse the 2,000-yard rushing plateau vs. Charlotte on oct. 8.  Price busted loose for a 25-yard jaunt with just under 12 minutes left in the third quarter in reaching the milestone.

Price opened the season with back-to-back 100-yard rushing efforts against Long Island and Texas State.  He rumbled for 165 yards and three TDs vs. LIU before following with a 11-yard effort vs. the Bobcats.  Recorded rushing scores at Texas Tech, Central Michigan and Florida Atlantic.

Heatherly, 2021 Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Year, boasts each of the best two single season punting averages in FIU program history – including the top mark of 46.8 set in 2021 - which ranked eighth nationally and led C-USA.

Heatherly is a three-time All-C-USA selection after earning first team status this season and honorable mention in 2019 and 2020.

The Grove, Okla., native placed 21 punts inside the 20-yard line and boomed 27 punts over 50 yards during the 2021 campaign – he also forced 12 fair catches.

Heatherly boomed a punt of at least 60 yards in six games in 2021.

In addition, he completed a 20-yard pass for a first down on a fake punt attempt vs. North Texas on Nov. 20.

Heatherly's 3,418 total punting yards rank as the fourth-most nationally in 2021.
