DALLAS – The FIU football program enjoyed an eventful day two in Dallas, Texas, as the Panthers continue preparations for the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl, set for Friday, Dec. 26 at 8 p.m. ET against UTSA on ESPN.
FIU took to the practice fields on SMU's campus Tuesday morning, completing a full workout as part of its normal practice routine. To add some energy and competition, the Panthers incorporated one-on-one drills highlighted by the "Rattle the Cage" segment, featuring offensive linemen matched up against defensive linemen in a pass-catching challenge.
The spirited competition carried over into a post-practice "Rattle the Cage" session, where administrators and football support staff had the opportunity to catch passes in front of the team. FIU Director of Athletics
Scott Carr and FIU President Jeanette Nuñez joined in the action, each hauling in touchdown receptions to cap off the Panthers' first practice in Dallas.
FIU concluded the day with a team outing to the American Airlines Center, where the Panthers attended the NBA matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.
