DALLAS (May 2, 2022) – After a stellar season on the Links for the FIU women's golf team, Karissa Kilby was named the 2022 Conference USA Co-Freshman of the Year, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Kilby shares the superlative with Elena Melich of Southern Miss.
 
The Honolulu, Hawaii native earned a 75.4 stroke average this season en route to becoming the first Panther since Camila Serrano in 2014 to be named Freshman of the Year.
 
Kilby collected tour Top 20 finishes during her freshman campaign that was highlighted by a tied for fifth finish at the FIU-hosted Pat Bradley Invitational in October and a t9 placing at the C-USA Championships last month.
