PFN'S TOP 100 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF 2022
MIAMI – FIU senior wide receiver
Tyrese Chambers has been slotted as the No. 86 ranked player on Pro Football Network's (PFN) list of the Top 100 College Football Players of 2022, which was released on Monday.
Chambers is the only player from Conference USA selected to PFN's list of the 100 most elite players in college football.
PFN's list differs from others as it puts more of an emphasis on positional value and production shown on the field.
While projection is a part of the selection process, some of the players predicted to finish at the top of their conference leaderboards may not be ranked so highly as PFN's selections are more heavily based on what they've put on tape so far during their careers.
Chambers, who was previously named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, has established himself as one of the nation's most dynamic pass catchers following a breakout 2021 campaign.
The Baltimore, Md., native ranked second nationally with an average of 23.9 yards per reception in 2021, while posting the top single season receiving-yard performance in FIU annals (1,074 yards).
He also recorded the most touchdown catches in a season by a FIU player – with nine. Chambers' 91-yard TD catch at Southern Mississippi on Nov. 27 marked FIU's longest play from scrimmage in program history. He recorded a total of 10 catches of at least 40 yards in 2021.
In addition, Chambers has been recognized on Athlon's and Phil Steele's All-CUSA First Teams, the Conference USA Preseason Watch List, PFN's All-America Team and Pro Football Focus' All-C-USA squad.
The Panthers open the 2022 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 vs. Bryant University in a 7 p.m. kickoff from FIU Stadium.
