MIAMI (Jan. 27, 2022) – Swimming and Diving returns to the FIU Aquatic Center on Saturday January 28 to take on cross-town rival Florida Atlantic in the final dual meet of the season.
 
First race is set for 11 a.m. with Senior Day ceremonies beginning at 10:30 a.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as Panther Power will be giving out Chik-fil-a chicken sandwiches while supplies last.
 
DUAL-ING EXPERTS
The Panthers traveled west for their last meet, taking down Florida Gulf Coast, 204-95.
 
The dominant performance has highlighted by great showings from the squad's January additions.
 
The trio of Oumy Diop, Ingrid Huszar and Var Erlingsdottir Eidesgaard earned 37 points for FIU. Huszar and Eidesgaard took home their first career wins, taking the 100-breast and 500-free, respectively. Diop finished second in the 100-fly in her solo debut.
 
The more senior trio of graduate student Maha Gouda, sophomore Christie Chue and freshman Harliai Curthoys-Davies also put in a good showing with all three earning two victories.
 
The Panthers' relay teams continue to dominate the competition earning another clean sweep, earning first and second place in the 200-medley and the 400-freestyle races.
 
ALWAYS A PANTHER
FIU will celebrate another stellar senior class Saturday morning with eight upperclassmen competing in their final home event.

The Class of 2023 swimmers are Eriana Temperino, Kasia Kolodziej, Kelsie Campbell and Mia Zahab.

The Class of 2023 divers are Gouda, Raquel Mason and Serena Buchwald.

This class was instrumental in capturing conference championships six, seven and eight of the programs historic "8-peat".

UP NEXT
FIU closes out the regular season on Friday, February 10 as participants in the University of Miami First Chance Invitational. The meet is set to start at 10 a.m. at the Whitten Center Pool.
