MIAMI – The FIU women's swimming and diving team is set to host the annual FIU TYR Classic this weekend at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center, beginning on Friday, Oct. 6, and ending on Saturday, Oct. 7.

• Alumni Day, with events beginning at 9:30 a.m. and alumni recognition at 9:45 a.m.

The Panthers will welcome seven different programs for the invitational meet, including six in-state foes and one from outside Florida. Florida Atlantic, Lynn, 2023 NAIA Men's & Women's Champions Keiser, 2023 Division II Women National Champions Nova Southeastern, St. Thomas, Florida Tech, and Marshall will all make the trek down south.
 
Each session will feature nine events. A total of nine swimmers and two divers will be allowed per team. 

LOOKING BACK
Last season, FIU took first overall in the annual TYR Classic, totaling for 533 points, while winning 13 of the 18 events on the weekend.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU opened the meet season as they took on the Miami Hurricanes last Wednesday, Sep. 27 at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center.
 
The Panthers totaled for six top three finishes and three first places finishes on the afternoon, while sweeping in the diving portion.
 
Ingrid Huszar took home first place in the 100-yard breaststroke while Nicole Frank posted a top time in the AAC for the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM.
 
On the diving side, Ruska Lehtonen scored a total of 252.30 points on the 1-meter, while Kristina Keenan scored first on the 3-meter with a total of 265.20. In addition, Lehtonen won the AAC Diver of the Week honor.
