MIAMI – The FIU swimming and diving program is set for a full weekend of competition, as the swimming squad travels to Davie to face Nova Southeastern and Lynn in a dual meet, while the diving unit hosts the South Florida Diving Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center.

FIU will make its third consecutive trip to Nova Southeastern, taking on the defending Division II National Champions alongside Lynn University. It marks the Panthers' second meeting this season with the Fighting Knights, having previously faced them at the TYR Fall Classic.
Last year, the Panthers defeated both NSU and Lynn, earning a 235.5–152.5 win over Nova Southeastern and a 262–126 victory over Lynn. The FIU divers also claimed event wins against Florida Atlantic.
This weekend's diving invitational will feature FGCU, Florida Atlantic, Keiser, and St. Thomas, beginning with the platform event on Friday, Nov. 7 at noon, followed by the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions on Saturday, Nov. 8 at noon—both from the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center.
LAST TIME OUT
FIU returns back to the pool after falling to the Liberty Flames last on Friday, Oct. 31 – Saturday, Nov. 1 from the Doral Aquatic Center in a 219-209 decision.
The Panthers posted eight event victories and 31 top-three finishes across the meet, highlighted by standout performances from freshman
Pauline Zeller, senior
Nicole Frank, and sophomore
Tawannah McLemore.
Zeller led the way with three individual wins and one runner-up finish, clocking first in the 50 butterfly (24.34), 100 IM (56.97), and 100 butterfly (53.97) before placing second in the 200 butterfly (2:02.72). She earned American Conference Freshman of the Week honors for her efforts.
Frank added a first-place finish in the 200 IM (2:03.51) and finished second in both the 200 breaststroke (2:18.29) and 400 IM (4:23.16).
McLemore impressed in the sprints, capturing first in the 50 freestyle (23.18), while also taking second in the 100 IM (57.63) and earning two third-place finishes in the 50 butterfly (24.80) and 100 freestyle (52.76).
On the diving side, FIU finished with a top score in the 1-meter event as senior
Ruska Lehtonen posted a score of 251.55, while junior
Kristina Keenan took fourth for 235.20.
In the 3-meter event, three Panthers placed in the top-five with Lehtonen (262.88) taking second, Keenan (254.48) scored third. Freshman
Sofia Torstensson placed fourth on 3-meter (250.28) and
Brooke Megdall rounded out the top six with a 228.53 on the board.
