Swimming Heads to Davie for Dual Meet vs NSU/Lynn, Diving Hosts FGCU and Indian River this Weekend

Diving hosts a meet at Biscayne Bay this Saturday

MIAMI – The FIU swimming and diving program is set for a packed weekend as swimming heads to Nova Southeastern for a dual-meet against NSU and Lynn, while diving takes on FGCU on Friday in Fort Lauderdale and a FGCU/Indian River on Saturday from Biscayne Bay.

FIU heads to Davie for the first time since 2021, taking on the defending Division II National Champions NSU for the second time this season after appearing in the TYR Fall Classic. It'll also be the second appearance for FIY against the Fighting Knights of Lynn appearing in the same classic.

Diving takes on the Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast on Friday & Saturday, as the Panthers captured the diving events in their meet last January in Fort Myers. It'll be the first appearance for FIU since 2018 to take on Indian River, taking top scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter when they dualed in Fort Pierce.

LAST TIME OUT
FIU dominated in the TYR Fall Classic last month, picking up a total of 521 points for 1st overall for the second straight year of the classic.
 
The Panthers garnered 11 first-place finishes on the afternoon and six top-three finishes.; Senior Christie Chue notched three first places finish in individual events in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual relay, and the 200-yard breaststroke. She posted a time of 1:02.82 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 2:06.67 in the 200-yard medley relay, and 2:18.31 in the 200-yard breaststroke, all top three times in the AAC. In addition, she added with two more first place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.56 and 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:48.87.
 
On the diving side, Paige Burrell won the 1-meter event with a score of 304.30, qualifying her for the NCAA Zone B.

UP NEXT
The Panthers head to Columbia, Missouri for the Mizzou Invitational for a three-day meet that begins on Wednesday, Nov. 15 to Friday, Nov. 17.
