MIAMI – The FIU men's basketball team came out fast as it overpowered Trinity College for a 146-55 win on Saturday evening at Ocean Bank Convocation Center in Miami.
The Panthers, who scored a program record 73 points in the first half, opened an early 20-5 advantage on the strength of five three pointers in the initial 4:07 of regulation and never looked back in a contest they never trailed and led by as many as 94 points in the second half.
FIU (4-8) forced a total of 17 turnovers and flipped that into 27 points and outrebounded Trinity College 70-20, including 20 offensive rebounds. The Panthers limited Tigers to just eight field goals in the first half and seven over the final 20 minutes.
A total of nine Panthers finished with double-figure scoring totals, including
Jaidon Lipscomb who tabbed a career-high 23 in the victory. Joining him in double-figures was

For the game, FIU shot .640 (55-of-86) overall from the field – including a .762 (32-of-42) clip in the second half.
The Panthers' total of 146 points marked the highest single-game point total in program history, eclipsing the previous best effort of 123 points vs. Palm Beach Atlantic on Nov. 12, 1995.
