Miami, Fla - The FIU Women's Hoops Team will play their final game of a six-game homestand against Bethune-Cookman University Sunday, December 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Oceanbank Convocation Center.

FIU (4-4) will head into Sunday's matchup coming off an 88-81 victory over Jacksonville University, snapping a two-game losing streak.
The Panthers were led by a group of upper-classmen, who got the scoring started early thanks to graduate student Olivia Trice's quick five points out of the gate. Trice, starting her fourth game in a row, went on to have a career day, putting up 21 points on 7-13 shooting including 4-9 from three. The guard set a new career high in points, surpassing her previous best of 17 from her time at Bowling Green State.
After leading at the end of the first quarter, FIU would find themselves down by three at the end of the half. Graduate student Courtney Prenger led the way coming out of the break, scoring the Panthers's first seven points of the half and putting the Panthers in the lead for good. The 6-1 forward ended the night with 19 points on an efficient 9-12 shooting, two assists, and three rebounds.
Senior Ajae Yoakum put on a show on the offensive side of the ball, ending the game with an 18-point double-double, good for her second of the year. The forward racked up 10 rebounds, with seven being offensive rebounds, leading to FIU winning the second chance points battle 16-8.Â
Junior Courtney Turner added to the big day for the forwards with 12 points of her own to go along with eight rebounds, two shy of a double-double. She added on a block and a steal, accounting for a couple of the 25 turnovers the Panthers forced, again winning the points off turnovers battle 32-16.
Scouting Jacksonville
Bethune-Cookman (4-2) will come into Sunday's game coming off a 68-63 win over Jacksonville University, good for their fourth win in a row.
The Wildcats sit at second in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings, averaging 65.7 points per game, good for fifth in the conference. They are led by graduate student Chanel Wilson, who is averaging 16.3 points on the season, good for second in the SWAC. The 5-7 guard also places second in the the conference in assists per game at 3.8 and in assist to turnover ratio at 1.8.
This will be the first meeting between FIU and Bethune-Cookman since 2021, when FIU beat the Wildcats 68-57.
