MIAMI – FIU men's soccer forward
Eduardo Mustre was selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team, as announced by the committee Tuesday.
Mustre comes off a standout first season donning the Blue and Gold, recording a team-high of 11 goals and 24 points and starting in all 19 matches, earning AAC All-Conference first team honors.
"Eduardo came to the US to play college soccer 3 months ago and is already amongst the top goal scorers in the country," head coach
Kyle Russell said. "It's pretty remarkable when his competition are predominantly guys who have been in the college system for 4 & 5 years. This is just the beginning for him, expect much more to come in the future."
His 11 tallies are the most by a FIU Panther since 2018, while sitting second in the American. The Cordoba, Mexico native has a pair of multi-goal games (vs Oregon State 8/24) and (vs Charlotte 10/27), in addition being named to the weekly AAC Honor Roll four times throughout the duration of the regular season.
Additionally, Mustre was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 100 Midseason List, coming in at 83
rd in the country.
