MIAMI (Feb. 13, 2022) – Swimming and Diving opened the American Athletic Conference Championships on Monday, competing in the 1-meter dive and sitting in second place with 72 points.
Graduate Student
Maha Gouda finished fourth in the 1-meter with a score of 283.95, missing the podium by only 3.55 points.
The day started with prelims where Gouda finished with the second highest score after posting a 282.15 over the six dives, locking in a spot in the finals.
Senior
Raquel Mason put in a top 10 score in prelims with a 235.05, good for 10th.
Gouda performed well in the 1-meter finals, averaging a 6.53 per judge score. Her final score of 283.95 put her just shy of third place and netted the Panthers 26 points.
In the B - Final Mason took 12th (242.35) scoring 15 points, graduate student
Serena Buchwald finished in 14th (230.95) scoring 13 points and freshman Ruska Lethonen finished 16th (217.70) scoring 11 points.
Junior
Alexa Lemus scored seven points with a 224.05 in premlins.
