MIAMI, Fla. - The No. 36 FIU women's tennis team closes its 2023 home slate this Saturday, Mar. 18, hosting Yale at FIU Tennis Courts for a 12 p.m. matchup. Prior to Saturday's match, senior
Kristina Miletic will be recognized for her dedication and commitment to the program on Senior Day.Â
The Panthers look to notch their eighth straight win overall while capping an undefeated home slate at 8-0 currently for the 2023 campaign - which would mark the first undefeated home record in a season since the 2018 season (8-0).Â
FIU has gotten out to strong starts this season having won the last nine straight doubles points upon the Panthers' win streak, while two Panther duos remain ranked in No. 62
Ekaterina Khairutdinova and
Kamila Umarova and No. 56
Yasmine Kabbaj and
Oyinlomo Quadre.Â
FIU sits 27-8 on the season in doubles, as No. 2 tandem of Kabbaj and Quadre paces the Panthers with 11 dual wins (11-3), followed by No. 3 tandem of
Salma Loudili and
Katerina Mandelikova with 10 wins (10-2), including a six-match win streak. Umarova and Khairutdinova ride a three-match streak at the No. 1 position with a 5-2 mark.Â
Salma Loudili paces the team in dual singles wins with a 9-4 mark, highlighted by eight wins at the No. 6 spot, while freshman
Oyinlomo Quadre followes with eight wins, though, holding the hot hand for the Panthers with a six-match streak. Additionally,
Kamila Umarova has rebounded back into the win column with a pair of match clinchers this week against Columbia and ETSUÂ to sit at 5-3 this season.Â
