Panthers notch longest win streak since 2021 at 10 matches

HOUSTON, Texas – The 36th-ranked FIU women's tennis team notched its longest win streak since 2021 with a 4-1 defeat of No. 64 USF on Saturday afternoon, seeing the Panthers extend its streak to 10 matches and move to 14-4 overall I Houston, Texas. Freshmen Ekaterina Khairutdinova, Oyinlomo Quadre and Katarina Mandelikova sealed the deal for the Panthers with all three singles win after clinching the doubles point.

No. 56 Yasmine Kabbaj and Oyinlomo Quadre picked up where they left off at No. 2 doubles with a 6-2 decision over USF's Pellier and Simme, though, Salma Loudili and Katerina Mandelikova's streak at No. 3 doubles would come to an end after falling 3-6 to Bay-Christians and Falceto-Font.

No. 62 Ekaterina Khairutdinova and Kamila Umarova would nonetheless secure the advantage for FIU, dropping USF's Berry and Schumacher 7-5 for the 1-0 lead.

The Bulls struck first in No. 1 singles to knot the match up, 1-1, though, FIU's stud freshman trio would power through adversity to put the Panthers on top.

Khairutdinova started the rally at No. 2 singles, prevailing in three sets over Schumacher, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, to reclaim the advantage, while Manedlikova battled to come away in three sets over Falceto-Font, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2.

Both wins snapped a pair of skids for the two first-years, seeing both collect their sixth dual singles win apiece.

After slipping in her first set, Oyinlomo Quadre then dialed in for a second wind, bouncing back from a 4-6 first-set loss with a 6-3, 6-2, finish over Pellicer for the clincher.

Upon the win, Quadre is tied for most dual wins in singles (11) and doubles (13).
