MIAMI – The FIU football team will now have a record total of six regular-season games broadcast on national television in 2023 as part of the Conference USA broadcast schedule and the recent addition of a fifth CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) broadcast for the Panthers' game at UConn on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The Panthers' television schedule features five games televised on CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) and their first home national broadcast on ESPN2 since 2011, when they host UTEP on Wednesday, Oct. 11 in Miami.
The five CBS Sports Network national telecasts mark the most in a single season for the FIU football program, eclipsing the three appearances it made in 2019.
FIU will open the season with its first nationally televised CBS Sports Network broadcast of the season on Saturday, August 26 (Week 0) when it travels to Ruston, La., to battle Louisiana Tech in a 9 p.m. ET kickoff that will also mark the Panthers' Conference USA opener.
The Panthers' home game against Jacksonville State on Wednesday, Oct. 25 will also be broadcast to a national audience on CBS Sports Network, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
A total of three FIU road tilts will also air on CBS Sports Network, including the games at UConn (Sept. 16/3:30 p.m. ET), at New Mexico State (Oct. 4/9 p.m. ET) and at Sam Houston State (Oct. 18/7 p.m. ET).
Additionally, FIU's home games against Maine (home opener) on Saturday, Sept. 2 (6:30 p.m. ET) and North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 9 (6:30 p.m. ET) will each be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Panthers' games against Liberty (homecoming) (Sept. 23), at Middle Tennessee (Nov. 11) and Western Kentucky (Nov. 25) will each air on ESPN Platforms. Each of those games are subject to the 12-day ESPN selection window and all kick times are subject to change based upon television placement.
Television designation for FIU's road non-conference game at Arkansas (Nov. 18) will be announced at a later date.
The 2023 C-USA Championship game on Friday, Dec. 1, will air on CBS Sports Network.
Conference USA games will be available this fall via CBS Sports Network and ESPN. The majority of these exposures will take place on Saturday. However, the 2023 season also marks the debut of Conference USA's midweek scheduling model, primarily during the month of October, with CBS Sports Network carrying 10 games and ESPN carrying nine games this season during that timeframe on linear networks ESPN2 and ESPNU.
