MIAMI – The FIU football team had a total of 12 players selected to Phil Steele's 2023 Preseason All-Conference USA Team.

The Panthers posted a pair of selections to the first team that included senior linebacker Donovan Manuel, who recorded 97.0 tackles last season – which ranked as the eighth-highest total among Conference USA leaders.  He also ranked fourth among league leaders with an average of 8.1 stops per contest.

In addition, Manuel's 8.5 tackles for loss led FIU in 2022 and ranked as the 15th-highest total in Conference USA.

Junior tight end Josiah Miamen joined Manuel with first-team selection after hauling in 27 receptions for 242 yards and a touchdown last season.

FIU's lone second team selection was sophomore long snapper Jackson Lee, who appeared in all 12 games as a freshman for the Panthers in 2023.

The Panthers listed a total of four players on the third team with sophomore John Bock II earning the nod at center after holding down multiple positions on the FIU offensive front as a true freshman in 2022.  Joining Bock with third-team honors were incoming transfer defensive lineman Jack Daly, sophomore cornerback Hezekiah Masses and junior safety CJ Christian.

Rounding out the Panthers' honorees are five fourth-team honorees that include junior wide receiver Kris Mitchell, senior guard Jacob Peace, sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Guerad, graduate linebacker Alex Nobles and junior punter Daton Montiel.
