COLUMBIA, MO. – The FIU women's golf team had a total of three individuals finish among the top seven overall and posted a third-place overall finish at the 13-team, 54-hole Johnie Imes Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo., with the final round concluding on Wednesday.
The Panthers led after the opening round after shooting 282 team score led by a low round of 65 by graduate student
Agustina Gomez Cisterna. The round of 282 tied for the third-lowest round in program history for the opening round of a tournament – matching a 2015 performance at the Mountain View Collegiate and a 2014 showing at the Amelia Island Collegiate.
FIU finished with an overall team score of 870 (+6) for the three rounds – following scores of 293 and 295 in the final 36 holes. The Panthers finished 10 shots behind tournament winner Lipscomb University (860/-4).
Sophomore
Casey Yu led a trio of Panthers who finished among the top seven overall as she tied for third with a 54-hole total of 213 (-3). Gomez Cisterna followed with a three-round total of 214 (-2) to place fifth and junior
Karissa Kilby rounded out the group tied for seventh at 216 (E).
