It marks the best start through 18 games since the 2004-2005 season

MIAMI – Three Panthers recorded double-digit performances as the women's basketball rolled its way to a seventh straight win, taking down the Liberty Flames, 70-59, on Thursday night at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.

After being down six with 3:36 in the first, FIU strung momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Flames 21-8 in the ten-minute period highlighted by stout defense and key possessions including an Ajae Yoakum and-one score to close out at half with a 35-23 lead after two minutes of action.

The Panthers maintained their lead in the third, holding a seven-point advantage with a 55-41 heading into the fourth. Liberty was able to cut the deficit to five with 1:06 to play, yet FIU held their weight, securing a 70-59 for their seventh win in a row.

The 13-5 mark is the best start through 18 games since the 2004-2005 campaign while the 4-0 undefeated record in CUSA is the best start to begin conference play in program history.

Mya Kone, Kailah Henderson, Tanajah Hayes all logged 10+ points, led by Kone's 14 points, going along with nine boards, and steals. The nine rebounds marks the eighth game for the Pompano Beach native with nine rebounds or more in a game. Hayes netted 13 points on the night while shooting 4-8 from the field, while going 4-4 from the free throw line in the final minutes of play.

The bench shined for the Panthers recording 35 points opposed to just six from the Flames.

FIU disrupted the Flames defensively, forcing 22 turnovers, capitalizing with 19 points off the turnovers. The Panther's marquee rebounding, which is second in rebounds per game (40.8) dominated once again with 44 boards, including 18 offensive rebounds that followed up with 20 second chance points.
