MIAMI - The FIU women's swimming and diving team prepares for it's final dual-meet of the season as they head to Boca Raton to take on AAC conference foe, Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Jan. 27 with competition set to begin at 10 a.m. from the FAU Aquatic Center

FIU hits the road for the first time since their midseason at the Mizzou Invite in mid-November, and marks their first dual-meet action on the road since they took down Nova Southeastern and Lynn in a tri-meet victory on Nov. 3-4.
The Panthers are coming off a senior day victory this past Saturday, Jan. 20 in a 194-106 won vs Florida Gulf Coast from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center. FIU dominated winning 10 out of the 14 swimming events including sweeping both diving events on the day.
In the pool, senior
Christie Chue led the team with four first-place finishes including a pair of relay victories. In addition, the Singapore swimmer secured a FIU Aquatic Center Pool Record, posting a time of 2:14.65 in the 200-breast. On the afternoon, a total of seven Panthers claimed first place in the individual events.
On the boards, senior
Paige Burrell took first in both events, scoring a 290.10 on the 1-meter and 300.83 in the 3-meter. In addition, sophomore Ruska Lehtonon shined on Saturday earning zone cuts after scoring a 266.18 on the 1-meter and posted a 300.83 on the 3-meter. Freshman
Kristina Keenan scored a season-high on the 3-meter for a score 285.83, her first-ever zone qualifiying mark of her career.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
The Florida Atlantic Owls have competed in eight dual meets this season and own a 4-4 record. The Owls are coming off their own senior day victory this past Saturday, Jan.20 in a 191-70 win vs St. Thomas. This season, the Owls have marked victories in dual-meets against FGCU, Bellarmine and Keiser.
Saturday's contest will mark the 14
th head-to-head meeting between FAU and FIU, with the Panthers winning the last 13 consecutive meetings.. Last year, FIU won 193-88 from Miami on Jan. 28 highlighted by winning all 16 events, including diving.
UP NEXT
The diving team will head to Fort Myers to take on Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 12 p.m.
