GAINESVILLE, Fla. — FIU's women's tennis program faces off with a strong field of nationally-ranked programs at the 2024 ITA Kick-Off in Gainesville, beginning Jan. 27.
The three-day mini-tournament, hosted by the University of Florida, runs Jan 27-28. The Panthers will take on the No. 8 Gators in the opening round at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27.
FIU has defeated DePaul 6-1 and been swept by No. 21 Miami 7-0 to open its 2024 campaign. At the 2023 ITA Kick-Off, the Panthers secured a big victory over No. 18 UCLA in the consolation round following an opening round defeat to No. 10 Miami.
This starts a big stretch of the early season for the Panthers, who will see No. 8 UF and, pending results, a strong Wake Forest team or No. 20 San Diego. Following this, the Panthers take on No. 23 UCF at home, meaning this could be a stretch of four-straight matches against nationally-ranked opponents.
