GAINESVILLE, Fla. — FIU's women's tennis program bounced back with a 4-2 victory over Wake Forest to close out the ITA Kick-Off on Sunday. 

The Panthers (2-2) dropped the doubles point, but stormed back with four of the first five singles victories to claim the 4-2 win over the Demon Deacons. 

Katerina Mandelikova and Salma Loudili won 6-3 at the No. 2 doubles slot, but FIU fell at Nos. 1 and 3 to give Wake Forest a 1-0 lead. 

In singles, Ekaterina Khairutdinova cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win tie the match at 1-all. Valery Gynina picked up a victory at the No. 3 slot with a hard-fought 7-6 first set win and quick 6-1 win in the second frame. 

At No. 4 singles, Katerina Mandelikova also won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Oyinlomo Quadre provided the clinching point with a back-and-forth 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 win to earn the match victory.
