Swim & Dive's Megdall and Olsson Sweep Weekly AAC Freshman Awards

Marks Megdall's third straight freshman award

MIAMI - FIU freshman swimmer Sally Olsson and diver Brooke Megdall were recognized as the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Freshman Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Panthers wrapped up competition at the Purdue Invitational this past week, securing a second-place finish—their highest finish at the event since 2019.
 
Olsson, a native of Rydbohlom, Sweden, earned her first NCAA "B" cut of her collegiate career, placing third in the 200 breaststroke with a personal-best time of 2:12.30.
 
Megdall, from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, earned her third consecutive Freshman Diver of the Week honor after posting a personal-best score of 242.60 on the platform, securing fourth place and a zone qualification at the Invitational. Her score ranks as the 12th-best in program history.
 
Megdall has claimed Freshman Diver of the Week honors for three consecutive weeks, including the weeks ending Nov. 5 and Nov. 12.

FIU prepares for the CSCAA Open Water National Championships on Sunday, Dec. 15 from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center at 10 a.m.

The Panthers then roll into meet action the following day on Monday, Dec. 16, taking on the Marshall Thundering Herd at 4 p.m. from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center
