MIAMI – The FIU swimming & diving program opens the 2025-26 campaign this weekend when it hosts the annual TYR Fall Classic from Friday, Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Doral Aquatic Center.

This weekend marks FIU's first meet at the Doral Aquatic Center, which will serve as the program's new home site beginning this season.
Home meets will be free to attend, with complimentary parking, at 3005 NW 92nd Ave, Doral, FL 33172.
Each session will feature nine events. A total of nine swimmers and two divers will be allowed per team.
The Panthers will welcome four different programs for the invitational meet from the state of Florida. Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Keiser University – the 2023 NAIA Men's and 2024, 2025 Women's Champions. St. Thomas University will make the trek down south.
Under the direction of head coach
Randy Horner, now in his 16th season, FIU has secured nine conference titles during his tenure. The Panthers return 15 letterwinners and welcome 10 newcomers for 2025-26.
Graduate transfer
Maria Goncalves (NSU) arrives after winning two national championships, while seven seniors anchor the squad led by
Nicole Frank, who earned American Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet honors with three individual gold medals last season. Olympian
Oumy Diop also returns, while
Lutnya Bogdanova and
Ingrid Huszar bolster the breaststroke group.
Junior
Diana Santamaria, fresh off five medals at the 2025 AAC Championships, highlights the upperclassmen, while newcomer
Stella Warborn (St. Thomas, Fla.) brings NAIA National Champion credentials.
Seven freshmen join the program, including breaststroker

Carla Mailharrou (France), freestyler
Olivia Matson (Ohio), IM specialist
Faustine Mercier, and butterfly swimmer
Pauline Zeller.
Sophomore
Sally Olsson looks to make an impact in the breaststroke events, while South Carolina transfer Sianna Savara adds depth in freestyle.
Tawannah McLemore is expected to be a key contributor in the sprints.

LOOKING BACK
Last season, FIU took first overall in the annual TYR Classic, totaling for 550 points, while winning 11 of the 18 events on the weekend.
