ROME, Ga. — FIU's Oyinlomo Quadre earned a 6-3, 6-1 quarterfinals victory at the ITA Conference Masters on Friday morning, earning her automatic qualification for the upcoming NCAA Individual Championships.
Quadre earns NCAA Qualification for the second-straight season, following her selection to the NCAA field last year in Stillwater, Okla. The junior from Lekki, Nigeria has cruised through the opening three rounds of the ITA Conference Masters, winning all three of her matches in straight sets.
She will continue her competition at the ITA Conference Masters in the semifinals against Oklahoma State's Gracie Epps.
Quadre joins teammate Katya Khairutdinova, whom won the ITA Southeast Regionals on Oct. 22, in the NCAA Championships. Both Panthers will represent FIU in Waco, Texas Nov. 19-23.
Last season, Quadre fell in a tight match in the opening round, 2-1, to her opponent from North Carolina. She is currently ranked 31st in the nation, based off the ITA's initial preseason rankings.
