ATHENS, Ga. – FIU diver
Paige Burrell punched her ticket to the 2024 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships after finishing eighth on 1-meter at the NCAA Zone B Championships at the Jack Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium on Sunday.
Burrell will compete in her second NCAA's that will run from March 20-23 back at the University of Georgia along with swimmer
Christie Chue.
Looking to place within the top 10 in order to advance to nationals, Burrell finished prelims in sixth, scoring 273.30. In finals, Burrell. added 270.35 to take eighth, finishing with a score of 543.65.
Ruska Lehtonen also competed in the 1-meter prelims, placing 29th with a score of 234.75.
Due to her qualification on 1-meter, Burrell can add 3-meter to her list by finishing within the top 12.
UP NEXT
The women will compete on 3-meter on Monday, starting at 3:15 p.m. The top eight on 3-meter and top seven on platform on Tuesday will advance to nationals. Due to her qualification on 1-meter, Burrell can add 3-meter to her list by finishing within the top 12.
