BOULDER CITY, Nev. — FIU's women's golf program secured its best team result of the Spring this weekend, posting a ninth-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

FIU shot 306-296-300 (+38) over three rounds and finished ahead of fellow Division I competitors Bradley, Northern Iowa, North Dakota and Appalachian State. 

Individually, Karissa Kilby secured a top-20 finish to lead the Panthers with a combined score of 221 (+5). Kilby posted consistent rounds of 72-74-75 at FIU's top performer. 

Anika Veintemilla also had a solid showing with a tied-29th finish, posting a total score of 224 (+8). Her weekend was highlighted by an under-par round of 71 (-1) in the second round. 

Kelly Shanahan also finished in the top-35, one stroke behind her teammate with a score of 225 (+9). Gabriella Gomez and Arlynn Spence rounded out FIU's lineup with scores of 235 and 237, respectively.

FIU will compete in The Buzzy, hosted by North Texas in Denton, Tex. March 30-31 as its final competition before the CUSA Championships.
