Swim Places Seventh Overall at CSCAA NICs

Becker records NIC Meet Record on Day Two

OCALA, Fla - The FIU women's swimming team finished in seventh place overall at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship (NIC) with a total tally of 366.5 points, while the Panthers saw a NIC Mee record broken on the second day.

The Panthers finished ahead of notable Power 5 programs, (Illinois 328), (Iowa 327), (BYU 142), (Cincinatti 130), (Purdue 89), and (Texas A&M 87).

On day two, Emma Becker broke an NIC meet record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.13, a first place finish and moved into second all-time in the program.

The group of Becker, Ana Luiza Daisson, Diana Santamaria, and Jessica Shpilko took sixth in the 400 Free Relay for a time of 3:21.02.

Becker placed 9th in the B Final of the 200 Breast, logging a time of 2:17.09.

UP NEXT
The NCAA Championships run from March 20-23 on at the Jack Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia. Swimmer Christie Chue and diver Paige Burrell are set to compete.
