ATHENS, Ga - The FIU swimming & diving program wrapped up the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships as swimmer Christie Chue competed in the 200-breast on Saturday morning at University of Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium.

The senior swam her final event as a FIU Panther, placing 24th for a time of 2:09.02 in the 200-breast prelims.

"She [Christie] is such an amazing athlete," head coach Randy Horner stated. "It's fun to see her compete and be apart of it. She has grown tremendously as a person, but have just enjoyed seeing her compete at this stage for a third straight year."

Chue closes out her college career cementing herself as one of the top breastrokers in FIU history, holding program records in the 100-breast (59.10), 200-breast (2:07.99), and 200-IM (1:57.21). In addition, Chue was named the American Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet at this past year's AAC Championships, notching five golds and a meet record in the 200-breast. The Singapore swimmer is also a two-time honorable mention All-American in 2022 and 2023 for her placement in the 100-breast and 200-breast at NCAA Championships.  She qualified for NCAAs all three years in her time donning the Blue & Gold. Chue was also named the CUSA Swimmer of the Year as a freshman in 2022 and won four AAC Swimmer of the Week this season.

Following yesterday. diver Paige Burrell wraps up her one year at FIU making strides as she anchored the diving team, qualifying for the NCAA Championships for a second straight year. Burrell earned three medals at the 2024 AAC Championships, most notably gold on the 1-meter including posting a meet record in the prelims (316.60). She notched bronze on platform (241.20), a personal best, and bronze in the team-diving event (287.20). In addition, the graduate student was named AAC Diver of the Week twice over the course of the season (November 7th, and January 9th).
