Four Swim & Dive Members Tabbed to College Sports Communicators All-District Team

Browning and Chue earn honors for a second straight year

MIAMI  - The College Sports Communicators, formerly known as CoSIDA, announced its Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District accolades on Tuesday, as four Panthers were honored for their contribution in and out of the pool among the all-district nods in FIU's Jordan Browning, Paige Burrell, Christie Chue, and Harliai Curthoys-Davies.

Browning, a native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, notched all-district honors for a second straight year holding a 3.84 GPA as a Sports and Recreation Management major. The junior was an impactful piece of the Panthers' backstroke and butterfly events, leading the charge as FIU's co-captain. Notably she took home  first place in the FIU Sprint Invite on Jan. 3 for the 100-backstroke (59.55) and vs Florida Gulf Coast on Jan. 20 (59.12). The junior also competed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship this past March.

Burrell, a graduate student diver from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, holds a 3.83 GPA as a Kinesiology major. She qualified for the NCAA Championships for a second straight year, posting top scores and top-25 finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter event. Burrell earned three medals at the 2024 AAC Championships, most notably gold on the 1-meter including posting a meet record in the prelims (316.60). She notched bronze on platform (241.20), a personal best, and bronze in the team-diving event (287.20). In addition, the graduate student was named AAC Diver of the Week twice over the course of the season (November 7th, and January 9th).

Chue, a senior from Singapore, holds a 3.86 GPA as a Sports and Recreation Management Major, earning all-district honors for a second straight year. Christie closed out her college career cementing herself as one of the top breastrokers in FIU history, holding program records in the 100-breast (59.10), 200-breast (2:07.99), and 200-IM (1:57.21). In addition, Chue was named the American Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet at this past year's AAC Championships, notching five golds and a meet record in the 200-breast. She qualified for NCAAs all three years in her time donning the Blue & Gold and won four AAC Swimmer of the Week this season.

Curthoys-Davies, a sophomore from Adelaide, Australia, posted a 3.92 GPA as a Dieteics and Nutrition major had a shining sophomore season. She helped her team earn gold in the 800-medley relay for a time of 1:47.15. at the 2024 AAC Championships. In addition, she earned bronze in the 400-medley relay as the team posted a 3:36.45. Harliai also competed in the CSCAA National Invitational Championships this past March.
