MIAMI — FIU's women's tennis program heads to Gainesville, Fla. for its 13th NCAA Tournament and fourth-straight appearance, taking on Miami in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Championships on Saturday.
The Panthers, fresh off their second-consecutive Conference USA (CUSA) Championship, will stay in the Sunshine State to open the NCAA Postseason. FIU will take on nearby-rival Miami in the first round of the Gainesville Regional at Noon on Saturday, May 4.
The winner of the match-up between the Panthers and the Hurricanes will face off with the winner of host-Florida and Stetson. The Gainesville Regional final will be on Sunday, May 5 at 2 p.m.
FIU has met both Miami and Florida this season, falling to both teams back in January. Both matches were highly-competitive between three of state of Florida's top women's tennis programs.
This will also be the second-straight season that FIU participates in a regional with the Hurricanes. Last season, the Panthers fell to Auburn in the opening round of the Coral Gables Regional.
