MIAMI — FIU's 29th-ranked women's tennis program continued their winning streak with a 4-0 sweep of Rice on Friday afternoon at home.
The Panthers are now 10-0 at home with just two matches remaining in the regular season. FIU won two doubles matches at Nos. 2 and 3 to open the match with a 1-0 lead.
The Panthers then took the top three singles matches for a 4-0 victory. Valery Gynina clinched for FIU with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 win at the No. 3 slot.
In doubles, Salma Loudili and Ekaterina Khairutdinova picked up the first win of the day for the Panthers, downing their opponents 6-2. Gynina and Petja Drame cemented the doubles win for FIU with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Khairutdinova notched a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles as well. Quadre handled her opponent at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
