CUSA Football Kickoff and Media Day is slated for July 23, at the home of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas

6/3/2024 11:07:00 AM

MIAMI – FIU senior linebacker Reggie Peterson and senior running back Lexington Joseph will represent the FIU football program at the 2024 CUSA Kickoff and Media Day, which is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23 at the headquarters of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas.

FIU head coach Mike MacIntyre will join the student-athletes to discuss and preview the upcoming 2024 football season.

Peterson, a former walk-on, put together a breakout season in 2023 which saw him start all 12 games and finish with 104 tackles – which marked the 10th best single season total in program history.

Joseph is returning after missing the entire 2023 campaign due to injury.  He led the Panthers in 2023 with 536 rushing yards and five touchdowns, while averaging 5.0 yards per carry.

CUSA Commissioner Judy MacLeod, as well as head coaches and players from the other nine CUSA programs will also be on hand to discuss and preview the upcoming 2024 football season. This marks the first formal event under Conference USA's 10-team configuration that begins in 2024 with the addition of Kennesaw State to the league.

The Owls join continuing members FIU, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico State, Sam Houston, UTEP and WKU.

In addition to traditional press conferences and media availability, all participants will also take part in a live ESPN+ show, hosted by ESPN's John Schriffen.

A full schedule of events will be available at a later date.
