IRVING, Texas – FIU men's soccer's Nigel Van Haveren was named the American Athletic Conference goalkeeper of the week as announced by the league office Monday. 
 
The honor follows seven saves in his Panthers debut this past Aug. 22 in the season opener vs Seton Hall.

Van Haveren, a Nijmegen, Netherlands native tallied the most saves by a FIU Panther since March. 14, 2021 when Johan Penaranda posted 14 saves in a victory vs Marshall.
 
It marks the first weekly award of the season for a FIU Panther.

The Panthers hit the road for a non-conference matchup against the Stetson Hatters in DeLand on Monday night.
