Golf Closes Out Opening Tournament at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. — FIU's women's golf program closed out its first tournament of the 2024-25 season with an 8th-place finish at the Badger Invitational. 

The Panthers competed against several top teams as they opened their season at Wisconsin's home event. FIU posted an 8th place finish out of 13 teams. Individually, Karissa Kilby led the way with a 13th-place finish, shooting +6 for the tournament. 

Kilby was in the top-10 for most of the competition, shooting even-par in both of the first two rounds. Newcomer Hoi Ki Lau finished second among the Panthers and 25th overall. She posted two solid rounds of +1 in her final two rounds. 

Catalina Harvey finished 33rd (+12), but also turned in rounds of +2 and even in rounds two and three, respectively. Amandine Seguin finished 41st with a total score of +16.

Gabriella Gomez (+30) finished 72nd to round out the lineup for FIU. As a team, the Panthers' score of +40 saw them finish ahead of St. Thomas, Iowa, Nebraska, Augusta and USF. 

UP NEXT

FIU will head to East Lansing, Mich. on Sept 22-23 for the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State.
