MIAMI — FIU women's track and field's Michaelle Valentin earned Conference USA's (CUSA) Field Athlete of the Week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. 

Valentin continues to add accolades to a highly-decorated career in blue and gold. 

The Apopka, Fla. native participated in the Jimmy Carnes Invitational on Friday in Gainesville and took first place in the weight throw. Her throw of 20.98 meters was a facility record and also is currently the 15th-best mark in all of the NCAA. 

Valentin is a three-time All-American and has won a total of six combined medals at the CUSA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. She will continue her 2025 indoor slate at this weekend's RADD Sports Invitational, of which is back in Gainesville, Fla.
