Box Score GAINESVILLE, Fla. — FIU's 25th-ranked women's tennis program fell 4-2 to 19th-ranked Florida on Saturday afternoon to open up the ITA Kickoff.
The Panthers (1-1) trailed 1-0 after doubles to the Gators (2-0), but pulled the match back to 2-all in singles after wins from Ekaterina Khairutdinova and Valery Gynina.
Florida earned tightly-contested wins at Nos. 2 and 6 singles to earn the 4-2 victory. Khairutdinova won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Gynina came back from losing the first set 6-1 to take sets two and three, 6-2, 6-4, respectively.
Oyinlomo Quadre dropped a tight match at No. 2 singles 6-2, 7-6, 6-0.

FIU will take on Miami tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 26, for the second time this year. First serve will be at 11 a.m.
