Men's Soccer Lands Three on American All-Conference Teams

Mustre and Travis earn Second Team All-Conference Honors

11/6/2025 12:00:00 PM

MIAMI – Three members of the FIU men's soccer program were recognized with American Conference postseason honors, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

Fifth-year senior Eduardo Mustre and graduate student Owen Travis were named to the American Second Team All-Conference, while freshman Johan Helan earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

Mustre collects the second postseason honor of his career after a strong offensive campaign donning the Blue & Gold. The veteran forward led FIU with a team-high six goals and 12 points, ranking tied for third in the American. He also paced the squad in shots (26) and now owns 22 career goals in 41 matches with the Panthers.

The Mexico native notched a pair of multi-goal performances this season—scoring twice in the season-opener versus Omaha (Aug. 21) and again on the road at Tulsa (Oct. 18). Since returning to the lineup on Sept. 21, Mustre has logged three full 90-minute matches, including back-to-back against No. 24 Charlotte and UAB. A 2023 First Team All-Conference selection, Mustre was also tabbed Preseason All-Conference earlier this season.

Travis, meanwhile, earns his second postseason accolade as a Panther following an impressive season anchoring FIU's backline. The graduate defender leads the team in minutes (1,292) across 15 starts, registering 11 complete 90-minute outings. He's also posted career highs in goals (2) and assists (1) this season.

Travis scored his first career goal on Oct. 3 vs. Temple before netting the game-winner against No. 24 Charlotte (Oct. 24) and added an assist on the road at South Carolina. He has twice been named American Conference Defender of the Week (Sept. 15, Oct. 27) and also earned Weekly Honor Roll recognition on Sept. 22.

Helan has had an standout first season, appearing in all 16 games and earning 14 starts. As a forward, Helan tallied 3 goals and 6 points while logging 1,046 minutes of play. He's proved efficient in front of goal with a .200 shot percentage and .533 shots-on-goal. He scored in key matchups against South Carolina (9/02), Stony Brook (9/06), and FGCU (9/18), helping his team clinch their spot in the 2025 American Conference Championships. Helan also earned his first Freshman of the Week Award (9/8) after scoring in back-to back games. He ranks third on the team in goals, fourth on the team in shots-on-goal, and third on the team in points.
