The Panthers will compete in a full meet format for the first time since Nov. 7–8, when FIU split a pair of meets, defeating Lynn 252–139 before falling to Nova Southeastern 202–189.

Tuesday's competition will begin with diving at noon, followed by swimming events starting at 1 p.m.

The meet also marks the beginning of a four-meet homestand for FIU. The Panthers will host the FIU Sprint Invite on Jan. 3, a tri-meet against Miami and Harvard on Jan. 10, and conclude the home schedule on Senior Day against FGCU on Saturday, Jan. 24.

LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers took second overall in the Mizzou Invite as they finished ahead of Division I programs TCU, Wyoming, and Southern Illinois, marking their highest placement at the event after taking third in the 2023 midseason meet.

FIU recorded 11 top-five finishes throughout the week and set two program records — freshman Pauline Zeller's 100 fly (52.65) and the 200-medley relay squad of Oumy Diop, Diana Santamaria, and Frida Stretre Løbersli, which posted a new Panther-best 1:36.47.

Senior Nicole Frank delivered three standout individual performances, securing runner-up in the 400 IM with a B-cut time of 4:12.85, placing third in the 200 breast (2:12.87, B-cut), and finishing third in the 200 IM (2:02.09).

In the 100 breast, Stretre Løbersli earned second with a B-cut standard of 59.60, while Santamaria added a B-cut mark of 54.13 in the 100 back. Senior Ingrid Huszar also impressed in the 200 breast, finishing fourth (2:13.55).

In diving, senior Ruska Lehtonen earned a zone cut on 1-meter with a score of 270.70, while freshman Sofia Torstensson posted a personal best (244.00) for eighth.

On 3-meter, sophomore Brooke Megdall advanced to finals, placing seventh (254.00). Lehtonen added a fifth-place finish on platform (211.45), with Kristina Keenan also securing a finals appearance.

FIU also finished second in the team diving event, as the trio of Keenan, Lehtonen, and Megdall combined for 308.50 points.

HISTORY WITH THE THUNDERING HERD
FIU holds a 2–1 all-time record against Marshall in dual-meet competition. The Panthers earned victories in both 2021 and 2022 before the Thundering Herd claimed a 179–121 win in last season's meeting.

SCOUTING MARSHALL
Marshall enters the meet with a 1–3 overall record this season. The Thundering Herd earned their lone victory with a win over James Madison on Saturday, Nov. 1, and narrowly fell to West Virginia, 212–208, on Oct. 10. Marshall also competed in a tri-meet at Ohio, where they faced Buffalo and Ohio.

At the Miami Invitational midseason meet, the Thundering Herd placed fourth with 334 points. Tuesday's contest will mark the first meeting between FIU and Marshall as American Conference opponents, following Marshall's addition to the league this past summer.

FIU hosts the FIU Sprint Invite to open 2026 on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 10 a.m. from the Doral Aquatic Center. Results will be available via MeetMobile.
