MIAMI – A total of 14 FIU football student-athletes received their diplomas this week during the FIU's winter commencement.
The group includes notable starters on offense
Kejon Owens, who was named the CUSA Offensive Player of the Year, setting the single-season record in rushing yards.
In addition, linebacker
Johnny Chaney Jr. graduated as the All-CUSA First team Defense selection racked up a team-high of 100 total tackes with two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 6.5 total tackles for loss.

BOWL BOUND
Led by first-year head coach Willie Simmons and our talented student-athletes, coaches and staff, the Panthers are set to represent FIU on a national stage in Dallas, Texas on Dec. 26 in the First Responder Bowl. FIU will take on UTSA at 8 p.m. ET at Gerald J. Ford Stadium, of which the game will air as a standalone matchup on ESPN.
