Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. — FIU's 61st-ranked tennis program fell to 26th-ranked Florida Atlantic 4-1 in non-conference play on Saturday to close out its regular season.
The Panthers (12-4) fell to the undefeated Owls (15-0) in their final match before the upcoming CUSA Tournament. Valery Gynina produced the lone point for FIU with a 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, FIU dropped all three matches, staking FAU to a 1-0 lead. The Owls then won the first singles completed singles match to gain a 2-0 advantage. Gynina made it a 2-1 deficit with her victory, but wins from FAU at Nos. 1 and 5 singles secured the match for the Owls.
