Mandi Morioka have been named Conference USA Setter of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The honors come after FIU's dominant weekend, as the Panthers swept Missouri State in back-to-back matches at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center to open CUSA play.
Cook directed the FIU offense with 84 assists across two matches, while adding 13 digs. On Friday (Sept. 26), the Wilmington, N.C., native dished out 44 assists in a four-set victory. She followed with her fourth double-double of the season on Saturday (Sept. 27), posting 40 assists and 12 digs in the sweep.
Cook leads FIU with 370 assists this season and ranks among the conference's top 10.
Morioka, earning her second CUSA weekly defensive honor of the year, anchored the Panthers' back row with 40 digs over the weekend.
The senior from Torrance, Calif., tallied 21 digs on Friday before adding 19 more in Saturday's sweep. She continues to pace FIU with 233 digs on the season, a mark that ranks top five in the conference.
