MIAMI – FIU Athletics announced a change in leadership of the volleyball program on Tuesday, Dec. 2, as head coach
Cristina Robertson will not return to the Panthers and will be pursuing other opportunities.
"I want to thank Cristina for her four seasons with FIU," said Director of Athletics
Scott Carr. "Her commitment to improving our program's on-court results and strong academics is greatly appreciated, and we wish her all the best in their future endeavors."
In a testament to the on-court progress made under Robertson, FIU won 20 matches this past season for the first time since 2011 and came within one point of winning the Conference USA Championship and advancing to its first NCAA Tournament since 2009.
In four years, she accumulated 49 victories, including 13 in her second season in 2023 – which at the time was the most in a single campaign since 2018.
A national search for FIU's next head coach will begin immediately and there will be no further comment from FIU Athletics' officials until that process is completed.
